Hebrews 10:22 "let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water."  NIV

It is so wonderful to pray and know that we are being heard by the Father.

The Conscience?  What is our conscience?  How do we get a conscience?  Do we automatically have one?
Do we all have the same conscience?  Is the Christians' conscience the same as or better than the non-Christians'? As a Christian do I need to be careful of damaging the conscience of another Christian?

I believe the Lord continues to purify our consciences' before Him as we walk with Him through life.

The apostle Paul says:
Acts 24:16 "So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man."

And again he says:
2 Cor 1:12 "Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God’s grace."

It is found in God's Word that He is the source of our conscience.  For He places His awareness in the heart of each one of us, whether we acknowledge it or not.

Here is the warning concerning the conscience in scripture:  Paul says to Timothy about false teachings
1 Timothy 4:2
"Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron."
Our conscience can be over-rulled by the mind and by our selfish desires.  We can and do justify our actions easily when our motives are not constantly challenged by our associations with the Godliness fond in our relationships with other (Christians) and in what we continue to put in our minds through the reading of God's Word.
